2022 Garden Sponsorship

My name is Helen Porteous, and I am the Chair of the Osgoode Township Museum's Heritage School and Community Garden in Vernon, ON. The garden was developed in 2013 through a series of grants and a dedicated team of volunteers. Our site hosts the main school garden, an orchard, a small bee pollinator patch, a butterfly garden, and perennial flower beds. The garden committee consists of volunteers that plan, plant and maintain the garden so that residents of the area may come and harvest from the garden all season as it matures.

We have thousands of residents including families and seniors that enjoy the garden each year. Unfortunately, as we all know, COVID-19 set in and has caused a bit of havoc and we have had to pivot our fundraising approach for the garden. Residents have been kind to leave small donations in our donation box, which offsets cost of seeds and other gardening supplies. In 2022, our main goal in the garden is to bring the pathways up to accessibility standards, as they need to be resurfaced. The anticipated cost for this will be $2500. We're asking local businesses, groups or individuals to support us and meet our fundraising goal of $2500 for the garden resurfacing project.

We're providing an unique partnership opportunity for our community members! You can sponsor a section of our garden! The details of the sponsorship opportunity are outlined in this sponsorship package. With your help, we will be able to maintain and grow our garden for you and our local community!

Thank you for your time and consideration, and look forward to seeing you in the garden!
